Surprise!!! We moved!

Mid-Century Ranch Home

We’ve got some big news to share…We moved! We’re currently settling into our new 1960s ranch home, and couldn’t be more thrilled to start this new chapter in our lives. This was the one and only house we toured when we decided to sell our old retro ranch, and it turned out that it was just meant to be.

By the way, I’ve got to give the KK Homes team a major shoutout for their help in bringing this dream of a move to fruition. They somehow managed to sell our old home in something like four days (crazy!), and they helped us simultaneously pull off buying our new house, too. I couldn’t recommend them more if you’re in the market here in the Shenandoah Valley.

Anyway, John and I are busy, busy behind the scenes getting unpacked and organized post-move, so I’m just going to leave you with this handful of sneak peek photos of our new space. There was a brief moment while considering a move that we thought of trying to get a newer home, but our hearts just can’t get enough of 1960s architecture, so we’re right back at the beginning of another mid-century renovation. We’re so excited for the possibilities here, though, and can’t wait to tell you all about our plans.

Coming up in the next few weeks I’ll be sharing mood boards for each of the main spaces, plus a full home tour of the new house so you can get a better sense of what we’re working with. I also plan to share one final home tour of our old 1960s house so that we can give that beautiful space the send-off it deserves. Stay tuned for all of that, and I hope you enjoy this first peek inside our beloved new home!

Easy Halloween DIY Crafts To Try

Easy Halloween DIY Crafts To Try

Who’s getting excited about Halloween?! We’re less than a week out from the big event, and I know our household is feeling the excitement. It’s not so much about trick or treating or dressing up for John and me. We’re more looking forward to watching Halloween movies in our pajamas, enjoying the crisp fall air that comes with late October, and treating ourselves to some homemade autumnal treats (like these two ingredient pumpkin cookies I blogged about back in 2012).

If you’re planning on getting creative in honor of All Hallows’ Eve, keep scrolling for links to some of my all-time favorite crafts from the Dream Green DIY archives.
