Marlo and I just got back from her wellness visit at the vet, which reminded me that I’ve been meaning to tell you about our favorite pet-proof couch covers again. I was hired late last year (just before Christmas) to photograph more of Nolan Interior’s washable sofa cushion covers, and I had a blast taking these shots featured in today’s blog post with our pack of pets. We’ve been using this particular brand of sofa covers for years now, and have absolutely no complaints. Keep reading for my main takeaways, and get links to the covers, too.
As much as I would love to tell you that our rescue cats and dog are perfect when it comes to respecting the sofas in our home, we have a few small issues. First of all, our youngest kitten loves to dig her claws into couch cushions, especially if she feels something sitting in her way. We’re pretty certain that she’s partially blind, so she sometimes struggles to compute things that end up in front of her. For example, if she finds herself up against a book or a water bottle lying on the couch, she tends to dig at it to get underneath it. This is one of those moments when I thank goodness for our couch covers because they take the brunt of her clawing and protect the more delicate sofa upholstery underneath.
Our dog is also another huge reason why we generally always have the sofas in our home outfitted with Nolan Interior couch covers. She’s a mixed breed pup with pretty soft fur, but she sheds a lot throughout the year, and her thick coat does end up getting a little stinky each season between washes. I have so much peace of mind knowing that our sofas are protected from her loose (sometimes smelly!) fur thanks to the covers we keep in place. They are super stretchy and go on easily, plus they hold up really well to repeated washes and dries in our laundry machines. Oh, and she also loves to roll around in the grass in our back yard, so it’s nice to know the easy-to-vacuum couch covers will catch all of that hay-like debris without letting stains get to the actual fabric of our couches.
You’re seeing the “Snug” Nolan Interior covers on our velvet sectional in today’s post, and they’re still going strong. I just recently was asked by the brand to place an order for new Nolan Interior covers on Amazon for review purposes, and wanted to let you know that the process was really easy if you’d like to go that route and have an Amazon account. Scroll down to their size chart included in the listing here to figure out which size covers you need, and then place your order. I’ll plan to share an update on our new set in “Jade White” on my Instagram this way in case you want to keep an eye out for that.
Today’s post wasn’t sponsored in any way by the brand, by the way! I am just that genuine of a fan, and wanted to make sure you knew about these covers in case you, too, have messy pets (or kids) in your home. We’ve washed ours a ton and have not had any problems. To find the exact covers we have, visit the Nolan Interiors website here, navigate to the search bar in the upper righthand corner, and type in “Snug.” We have that style in the color “Earl Grey.”
I know one of the issues some folks have is that the colors are a little limited so you might not be able to find a perfect match for your existing sofa color. I’m hopeful that the photos in today’s post prove that a two-toned look can be really cool! Just pick a color that closely matches your couch color, and you’ll be good to go. If you feel a little self-conscious about it when company comes over, don’t worry because it takes all of two minutes to remove the covers to reveal your pristine couch upholstery for the few hours when you have people over, and then you can put the covers back on once the party is over. Give them a try! That unique affiliate link gets you 10% off, by the way. I really think you can’t possibly be disappointed. We certainly haven’t been.
