Two Ways To Style A Wooden Riser

Let’s start with the bedroom. First of all, as a lover of solid wood bedroom furniture, I so appreciate the way that this riser complements my existing heirloom collection of wood furniture. The prominent grain in the riser looks so striking against the cherry wood tall dresser that my dad built for me, and I think it’s nicely offset by the ultra feminine glass bottles of perfume that I styled it with. I wanted to bring in a hint of greenery, so I also included a miniature faux succulent, and to finish off the look, I added a small ceramic dish that I bought from a local boutique, which holds my favorite pair of earrings and other everyday jewelry pieces.

Let’s now head into the living room. This time, I used the riser to stow away everyday pieces, like a stack of coasters, plus a deck of playing cards (perfect for impromptu family game night!), and a decorative strand of wooden beads. Keep in mind that your wooden riser doesn’t have to be purely all about functional items. Things like a pretty bead garland and a nearby potted plant help the riser feel like a natural part of your home décor landscape.
