It’s book launch day! I’m so thrilled to finally be able to share a link to the brand new purchase page for Your DIY Guide To Home Decorating. It feels like Christmas morning all over again, and I’m currently pinching myself every hour to make sure this really is happening. Please forgive the rampant cliches, but I’m just that excited to finally be able to cross this major business goal off my list! Hop over to the book’s landing page here, and keep scrolling in case you want to see more photos of the book that showcase all the different ways you can read it, plus some sneak peeks of the content itself.
As I explained last week, I have been working tirelessly on this project since last summer. As with most big projects I’ve tackled for my business over the past 13 years, I didn’t think long and hard about it. If I remember the moment correctly, I was reading a home décor coffee table book that I had been sent for review, and I thought to myself, “I could do this!” The following day, I started researching eBook page designs available through Etsy, bought myself a particular design, and then hit the ground running organizing the book to fit my DIY home décor skillset.
It took about four months to write the book, and then I spent the next two working on perfecting every detail. I triple-checked all of the links, prepped and shot four exclusive DIY projects (never before seen by any of you blog readers or social media followers!), edited YouTube videos to accompany the crafts, collaborated with Nikki McIntosh to copy-edit the book, scheduled a photoshoot with a professional photographer to fill the book with new photos, built a purchase page, and then I sent the completed book out for peer reviews from other home décor content creators whom I know and respect.
It has been such a whirlwind, and if I had known just how much work went into writing a book, I sometimes wonder if I would have started this mammoth project. Every time I get retrospective about it, though, I confirm that it was absolutely the right choice, and I’m so glad I dove right in. This is a big moment for me, and one that I’ll never forget as a small business owner.
By the way, you’ll receive a digital copy of the book with your purchase that can be read easily on your phone, tablet, or laptop, or you can choose to print the book, like I did. For those asking about the printed copy I’ve been showing in photos on Instagram and here on the blog, I special-ordered mine online! Click here for the website I used (please use the honor system, though, and only print one!). It cost about $30. Or you can just print your physical copy from your computer.
Hop over to purchase Your DIY Guide To Home Decorating here, and let me know if you’ve been following along with book sneak peeks as I’ve shared them over on social media since last summer. I’ve done my best to keep everyone updated along the way, and I know so many of you have been chomping at the bit to get your hands on a copy of the book. I can’t begin to tell you how grateful I am for your support and excitement. Your encouragement definitely kept me going.
