I took a little break from pottery updates over the summer, but I’m finally back with a brand new collection! This ninth batch of work is another really exciting one for me since it includes a full range of options—from hand-built items and speckled pieces, to crisp, clean white stoneware vessels, too.
Make the leap over to the DGD Pottery shop here to grab your favorites from the collection, and let me know in the comments of today’s blog post if you’d like to see something specific show up in the shop. I have a few unique items working their way through the kiln over at Make Waynesboro Clay Studio now, so keep an eye on Etsy for those. Let’s just say there are some pieces in the pipeline that can’t even sit on a tabletop…More to come, but in the meantime, here’s a list of fun links that caught my eye this past week.
Weekend Inspiration: No. 74
1. These DIY mirrored side tables look so high-end! Would you give the project a shot this fall?
2. Megan’s eclectic chic living room makes me want to add built-ins to every space in our home. Find out how to get the look for yourself here.
3. In case you missed it, our 2019 home tour went live on MyDomaine.com with photos by Tiffany Sun Jung! See the full story this way.
4. Spoiler alert: the next room on our renovation list is our kitchen, so I’ve been keeping an eye out for inspiration. We’re not planning to change anything around our sink area, but this article about how to choose the right faucet for your renovation still captured my attention. Now I wish we had chosen the black version!
5. In my opinion, it’s never too early to start prepping for the holidays—especially budgeting ahead of time for gifts. This article via The Everygirl offers lots of helpful advice for keeping things in check.
6. I treated myself to this fluffy knit pillow cover ahead of a lifestyle photoshoot I have planned next week, and it’s sooooo much nicer than I even expected it would be. Couldn’t recommend it more!

Just yesterday I finished up my DIY Christmas gifts that I will hand out to friends and others (teachers, landscaper, house cleaner, etc) – I’m glad to have finished all 24 already, but I definitely wasn’t in the “Christmas spirit” as I tied the 24 red bows on that hot mid-Sept day! This year I made wood cutting board conditioner, which is melted beeswax and mineral oil, poured into a glass jar that’s short enough to fit in a kitchen drawer, tied with a red and white/gold yarn bow and little tag.
I’m also now actively updating my Christmas spreadsheet. I have an on-going Google spreadsheet where I record notes/tips from previous years (I’m the host for our family’s Christmas Day celebration), and track presents – ideas and purchases. I find when I start shopping now, I’m able to enjoy the process more, and it’s more organic (i.e., I see something I think someone will like and I buy it, versus starting out on a hunt for someone). My sister, mom, and I also just this week got some December celebration dates on our calendars – it’s such a busy time of year, if we don’t plan things may not happen. We bake/decorate cookies with my aunts, have a brunch/present exchange with our three families, and I have a December baby so getting her family birthday dinner on the calendar comes in Dec too. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Christmas, so planning as such for me is exciting, and helps me feel prepared so I can actually enjoy the holiday.
Sounds amazing!! You’ve been busy! I bet it feels great to knock things out ahead of time. I’m going to try to do that this year. And thanks for sharing the spreadsheet idea, too!
