Ever since realizing that a colorful labeled container is as simple as a flat surface and oversized alphabet stickers, I’ve had a blast imagining new and unique ways to pepper the project throughout our house. In case you missed it, I first tried the method out to label a cat food container, and today I’m sharing how I customized the concept for everybody’s favorite back-to-school season.
Scroll on to see how I made my DIY ‘Work It’ Back-To-School Clipboard in less than five minutes using inexpensive supplies from Target’s in-store Dollar Spot.
- Clipboard
- Alphabet stickers (grab a few packs since you might need extra letters)
Simply put, this project hardly warrants a tutorial because all you have to do is peel and stick your letters. It’s really as easy as that, although, of course, you’ll first need to choose your saying.
In case you’re a details person like me, I’ll explain! I started by grabbing my sheets of alphabet letters and then held them up to the clipboard to get a general idea of how many letters I could fit. Since I wanted to stick with an office theme, I ultimately chose “Work it” as my clipboard quote. You, on the other hand, can run with anything you can think of—as long as it fits within the allotted space, that is.
From there, I simply stuck my alphabet letters to the surface of the board, starting at the end so that I could make sure all my letters fit. Once all of my stickers were in place, I used my fingertips to smooth the letters against the clipboard.
Have your kids gone back to school yet? Or are you a student facing a brand new semester yourself? Maybe you’re like me and just heading into the office with renewed energy this month. Either way, I bet you’ve raided the Dollar Spot at Target to take advantage of all the deals. If you haven’t though I’d suggest stocking up on the colorful goodies now before they’re gone for good! Oh, and by the way, this post isn’t sponsored in any way, shape, or form—I’m just Target’s biggest back-to-school fan.
