Lately, I’ve really been stepping outside of my comfort zone—whether it’s the colors I’m leaning towards, or the style of design I’m putting to the test. Take this week’s eHow project for example. Rustic elements usually aren’t my jam, but I was just too curious not to try out this wood burning tool that I’ve been hearing so much about. Enter: my DIY custom wood burned sign. It was a lot of fun to put together using a wood slab and the hand lettering skills I picked up from Laura Hooper Calligraphy, and you can catch the full tutorial over on eHow now.
P.S. Did you hear? I partnered with HGTV’s David Bromstad and the team behind Grandin Road to give away a set of David’s designer pillows (valued at several hundred dollars!). Enter the contest here.
