I’m back with part 2 of our beach vacation recap in photos! In case you’re just tuning in, catch part 1 here where I laid the ground work for our week-long escape to Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. While yesterday’s photos all stuck fairly close to (our rented) home, today’s images are all about Harbor Town. This little iconic locale within HHI on Sea Pines Plantation has been a traditional stop for as long as I can remember, and it didn’t disappoint this year.
^^ Just a short bike ride away from our rental, this outdoor arena is a hub for things of the sea and store variety. Shopping was enjoyed by all and wandering amongst the boats and rocking chairs was a must-endulge activity, practically daily.
^^ And, of course, we HAD to make a pit stop at the Harbor Town lighthouse! Another annual tradition, my sister, John and I made the 100-odd step trek to the top and enjoyed some pretty incredible views of the island, including the final hole of the Heritage tournament (for all you golf buffs out there).
^^ I know it’s a tad cruel of me, but I just had to share these laughable portraits of my sister. She is a steadfast loyalist to tradition, but also has steadily grown more and more afraid of heights. Here, you can see her practically clutching the walls of the lighthouse for stability while “enjoying” the view.
I miss you terribly already, Hilton Head…Don’t you dare change in the next 365 days!
P.S. If you haven’t entered yet, the Indie Mats giveaway is still going strong! Contest ends next Tuesday at midnight.
