The Options: New York or Chicago

I can’t even begin to put into words just how fabulous yesterday’s BHG workshop was. Literally. I would be here all day long. But since I traveled to the city with my sister, we’ve got things to do and museums to visit, so I’m hopping out the door with my walking shoes on, camera in tow.

While I gather all sorts of memories to tell you about next week, I thought it would be fun to play a little game of city-specific “Options.” Although I gave my heart to New York City years ago, I still have this nagging feeling that Chicago is where I would be if life had gone a different direction.

Option 1:

I don’t know if it’s the artist in me or what, but I will always <3 New York. The colors, the lights, the constant movement – I always liken it to being inside of a painting. I can’t look fast enough to take it all in. It’s just magnificent, especially at night in TImes Square – no matter how overrated it may seem to some.

Option 2:

And yet, I was MORE than a little intrigued by Chicago after hearing its name come up what felt like every single art history lecture I attended (and there were a lot of those). Jam PACKED with more art and architecture than I can wrap my head around, I can’t wait for my inaugural visit next Spring.
